Connections and Partnerships

Civic Systems Partnership

Provides our joint clients a complete accounting, plant accounting, and GIS/staking package.

Civic Systems is a technology and management consulting firm located in Madison, WI. Civic provides fully-integrated financial and utility billing solutions to municipalities.

Civic Systems is a subsidiary of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, a nationally-known accounting and consulting firm serving more than 900 public sector clients.

Connection

Civic Systems works with TerraSpatial Technologies to integrate complementary functions centered around work orders.

TST provides the GIS and job definition capabilities, which creates a structure for plant accounting. Job cost transactions such as materials, labor, equipment, invoices, and contributions are shared between the systems automatically and no duplicate entry is ever required.

Central Service Association

CSA provides TST developed software to its member utilities.

Central Service Association (CSA) is a joint action agency located in Tupelo, MS. CSA was founded cooperatively in 1937 by utilities of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to provide centralized expertise, customer billing, and other joint services.

Connection

In 2002, CSA sought to enhance its services portfolio with work order software. At that time, our predecessor to Plantworks was called Utility Management System (UMS). CSA commissioned a variant called Works Management System (WMS). WMS has capabilities specialized for TVA accounting requirements and CSA systems and processes. CSA integrates WMS with Microsoft Dynamics GP for customer billing, materials management, general ledger, and more. Approximately 80 member utilities use WMS.

In 2013, CSA began implementing a web-based upgrade called Works, which shares a technology framework with Plantworks.
